So we left Slovakia's Bratislava city and headed toward Budapest in Hungary. We were there for a river tour to look at bridges, city hall building, parliament building, palaces, and statues.
The Hotel we stayed at didn't have an awesome breakfast...It looks great, but the breakfast is not that great at all...
Exterior of Empress Maria Theressa's palace in Hungary. She was the empress of Austro-Hungary Empire, also called the Old Roman Empire. The royal family ruled their lands for 600 years until the end of WWI.
The original wood floor panels...We couldn't walk on those wood panels AND we were blocked by a glass wall because it's view only.
If someone ever rented/bought the DVD of "The Crown Prince (2006)", you will notice that this room was in the movie when the crown prince Rudolf was in a ball with his family and his mistress of the time, Baroness Marie. Actually, a lot of the scenes in the movies were shot in this palace, or other sites that were once owned by the royal family. I was really excited to watch + find the locations in the movie that looked familiar to me!
The movie was definitely shot at the garden behind this yellow-wall palace too!
This is the river tour on a boat....We were in Hungary at the time.
This is the famous chocolate cake produced by Hotel Sacher, it's called Sacher. Empress Maria Theressa was its biggest fan. To be honest, the chocolate shell was too sweet, the cake itself has no taste at all, I think it's there to balance the extremely sweet chocolate shell....Oh well, not my thing. But otherwise it has really nice texture and smell.
