San Diego - Day 3

6/14/2012      Thursday

I went to Seaport Village, Gaslamp Quarter, and Coronado Island where Hotel Del Coronado is located.

I found Seaport Village is a tourist site where they sell souvenirs, baking goods, jewelries and fast food to tourists.  Although it is sitting right next to a port where I can see the 75 Freeway that leads to Coronado Island.

Gaslamp Quarter....The oldest house of Gaslamp is disappointing....I thought it would be sitting within an area of old houses, but no, it's sitting within the perimeter of modern cityscape.

Hotel Del Coronado is a big nice surprise.  IT has a lot more nice scenaries of the beach, architecture, outdoor plaza and boats than what I had saw in the past 2 days.  I totally love the buildings of Hotel Del Coronado and the interior inside the hotel.  It has this very 19th century style of furnishing and decorative touch to it.  The hotel is pretty dark on the inside, all dark wood and dark brown carpet.  But when it comes to the hotel rooms, that section is totally about white paint and skinny long wood.  It's a very nice combination of dark values versus light values.
